When I was a boy I lived in the wilds of central Africa.
Our house was a 5 minute bike ride from the forest, and I used to love exploring its deep, dark depths.
I’d get on my bike early in the morning and set off down one of the paths weaving between the trees and thickets of bamboo.
The sounds of the birds singing and the smells that came from the trees and forest floor were amazing.
I’d pass bright red flame lilies and mushrooms the size of a cartwheel. And if I was fortunate, I’d find the shed skin of one of the world’s deadliest snakes – the black mamba.
Yes, it was dangerous cycling into that mysterious forest, and it’s a miracle no deadly creature ever came across my path. The gaboon viper, with its 2 inch fangs, was especially dangerous as it was so hard to see against the leaves on the ground.
About half an hour into the forest was a small bridge that crossed a stream.
The bridge had wooden slats with gaps between them. You could see the water sparkling below as you clattered over the slats.
Once over the bridge, you were in another world.
But why am I telling you all this?
Well, in a strange way, that little bridge over the stream is like effective email writing.
The bridge carried me from one world to another. Without the bridge I couldn’t have gone deeper into the forest.
Your email is the bridge that transports your reader into a different reality.

But without this ’email bridge’, how do you get your prospects to start reading your landing page?
